1) Does the WAC HHT-809L track head fit H-track, or do I need J or L track?
The HHT-809L is an H track fixture, so it mounts to WAC H-system track only. If your existing run is J or L series track, this head will not seat in it and you need the matching series head for that track.
2) What bulb does the WAC HHT-809L low voltage track head take, and is one included?
It takes an MR16 lamp with a GY5.3 bi-pin base, rated up to 50W. No lamp ships with the head, so order lamps separately when you spec the fixture.
3) Is this a line voltage head, or do I need a separate transformer for the HHT-809L?
It runs off a 120V track circuit and steps the power down at the head, so no remote transformer is required in the ceiling. The lamp itself is low voltage MR16.
4) Can I put the WAC HHT-809L on a dimmer?
Yes, but it needs an ELV (electronic low voltage) dimmer. A standard incandescent or MLV dimmer is the wrong control type for this head and will give you flicker or drop-out at the low end.
5) Will the HHT-809L work in a covered exterior walkway or a bathroom with a shower?
No. It is rated for dry indoor locations only, so keep it out of covered exteriors, canopies, and anywhere exposed to shower steam. For those spaces you need a damp or wet rated fixture.
6) How much room does this WAC track head need below the ceiling?
Figure roughly 6 inches of drop at full height, with a 4.5 inch width and a 3 inch length; the head body measures 2.39 inches in diameter. Worth checking against sloped ceilings or tight soffits before you commit.
