1) Will the WAC JHT-808 track head fit my existing J-type track?
The JHT-808 is a J Track fixture, so it mounts to J-type (Juno-compatible) track only. It won't seat in H or L track systems. It runs on 120V track and steps the power down for a low voltage lamp at the head.
2) Does the JHT-808 track head come with a bulb?
No lamp is included. You'll need to order an MR16 halogen with a GY5.3 bi-pin base, one per head, rated up to 50W. Buying lamps separately lets you pick the beam spread per fixture, which is the usual approach on a retail or gallery run.
3) Can I use the JHT-808 track head outdoors or in a covered patio?
No. It's an interior fixture with a dry location rating, so covered porches, bathrooms with shower spray, and exterior canopies are out. You need a damp or wet rated head for those.
4) What is the maximum wattage lamp I can put in a WAC JHT-808 head?
50 watts per head, and that's also the total load for the fixture since it takes a single lamp. Add up your heads against the track circuit capacity before you load a run.
5) How much space does a WAC JHT-808 head take up on the track?
The head measures 6.25 inches high, 2.75 inches in diameter, and 3.39 inches long. That 2.75 inch body width is what to use when you're spacing heads along a run or checking clearance under a soffit or low ceiling.
6) Does the WAC JHT-808 meet California Title 24 requirements?
It is CEC listed but not Title 24 compliant, and it is not Energy Star rated. For a California job with a Title 24 lighting requirement, this halogen head won't satisfy it on its own.
7) Can the JHT-808 head be mounted pointing up as well as down?
Yes. It has reversible mounting, so you can aim it up for wall wash or cove work as well as down for standard accent throw. The aluminum body handles the heat from a 50W halogen in either orientation.
8) What finishes does the WAC JHT-808 low voltage track head come in?
Two: black (JHT-808-BK) and white (JHT-808-WT). White disappears against most ceilings, black reads better in retail and gallery settings where you want the fixture to recede visually against dark track.
