WAC Lighting MTB-01 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the WAC Lighting MTB-01 terminal block used for in a Mini Puck run?
The MTB-01 is a wiring accessory for WAC Lighting's Mini Puck low voltage system. It gives you a defined connection point to tie puck light leads into a 24V supply run instead of splicing them loose in a cabinet. It is a connection block only, not a light and not a power supply, so you still need a 24V driver or transformer feeding it.
2) How much space do I need to hide a WAC Mini Puck terminal block under a cabinet?
Plan on a footprint of 3.25 by 1.75 inches with a height of 0.88 inches. That's under an inch tall, so it tucks behind a light rail or into a toe kick without dropping below most cabinet bottoms, but you need roughly 3-1/4 inches of clear length plus room for the leads to turn.
3) Can this WAC terminal block go in a bathroom vanity or a damp area?
It carries a damp location rating and is an indoor product, so a vanity, a covered porch soffit, or a laundry area is within its rating. Direct wet exposure, rain, or anywhere it could be sprayed is not. Keep it indoors and out of standing moisture.
4) Is the WAC Mini Puck terminal block UL listed for commercial work?
It is UL and cUL listed, which covers both US and Canadian installs. That matters if you're specifying for multi-family, hospitality, or any job where the inspector wants listed components on a low voltage run. Note that it is not CEC listed and not Energy Star rated.
5) What colors does the WAC Mini Puck terminal block come in, and does the color matter?
Two finishes: black under part number MTB-01, and white under MTB-01-WT. Electrically they're identical. Pick based on what the block sits against, since under a light-colored cabinet bottom or on a white toe kick the white version disappears and the black one reads as a dark spot from a low sight line.
