1) Can the WAC Lighting line voltage puck light be wired directly to 120V, or does it need a transformer?
It runs on 120V line voltage, so no low voltage transformer or remote driver is needed in the run. The LED module draws 4W and the puck itself carries the driver, which is why these can be daisy-chained off a standard 120V supply under a cabinet or in a cove without finding wall space for a transformer.
2) Will this WAC puck light dim with the switches I already have?
It dims on ELV and TRIAC dimmers. TRIAC is the common forward phase wall dimmer, so in most cases the existing residential dimmer works. What it will not do is dim on a 0-10V control, which is what a lot of commercial spaces are wired for, so on a job spec'd around 0-10V you need a different fixture or a phase dimming leg.
3) Can a WAC line voltage puck light go outside under a covered porch or in a bathroom?
Damp location rated, so covered exteriors like a soffit, porch ceiling or covered patio are fine, and so are bathrooms and similar humid interiors. It is not wet rated, which means no direct rain, no unprotected eave edge, and nothing in a shower spray zone.
4) How much space do I need under a cabinet for a WAC puck light?
The puck measures 5.12 x 4.33 x 1.97 inches. The 1.97 inch figure is what matters most on a surface mount job, since that is what stands proud of the cabinet bottom unless you recess it. Measure your toe kick or cabinet skirt depth against that before you commit to surface mounting rather than cutting in.
5) What color temperature does the WAC line voltage puck light produce, and will it match my existing under cabinet lights?
The module is selectable across 2700K, 3000K and 3500K, so you set it to match what is already installed rather than being locked to one shade. CRI is 90, which is high enough for countertops, retail display and anywhere color rendering on food or merchandise matters.
6) Does the WAC puck light meet Title 24 and ADA requirements for a California job?
Title 24 compliant, CEC listed, and ADA compliant. That combination is what a California permit set and an institutional or multi-family spec normally ask for on under cabinet and task lighting. It carries ETL and cETL certification, so it is listed for both US and Canadian installations. It is not Energy Star rated.
7) Is one WAC puck light enough to light a countertop, or how many do I need?
Each puck puts out 300 lumens at 4W. For a kitchen counter that generally means spacing them along the run rather than relying on one; a single 300 lumen source covers a pool of light, not a full cabinet width. For accent, cove, or display case work one per section is usually enough.
8) What finishes does the WAC line voltage puck light come in?
Three: black, brushed nickel and white. White disappears under a painted cabinet bottom, black reads cleanest against dark or walnut casework, and brushed nickel matches typical kitchen appliance and pull hardware. Order codes are HR-AC71-CS-BK, HR-AC71-CS-BN and HR-AC71-CS-WT.
9) Do I have to buy bulbs for the WAC puck light, and can the LED be changed later?
The LED module is built in and included, so there is nothing to buy alongside it and no lamp to source at replacement time. It is rated 50,000 hours. Behind a white acrylic diffuser, which spreads the output and keeps you from staring into a bare diode across a countertop.
10) Is the WAC puck light housing metal or plastic, and will it hold up in a rental or commercial space?
