1) Do the WAC Lighting HR-AC73 puck lights plug in, or do they have to be hardwired?
The HR-AC73 kit is a portable, line voltage set. It runs on 120V through a power cord with a roll switch, so no junction box, driver or transformer wiring is needed to put light under a cabinet or inside a display case. That makes it a good fit for a property manager or facilities crew adding task light to a tenant kitchen or a reception millwork run without pulling an electrician. If the job spec calls for permanently wired, switched-at-the-wall lighting, this is not the right part.
2) Will WAC HR-AC73 LED puck lights work on a standard dimmer?
Only on ELV or TRIAC dimmers. The HR-AC73 pucks dim on electronic low voltage (ELV) and TRIAC (forward phase) controls, which covers most residential and light commercial 120V dimmers, but a 0-10V control or a dimmer intended for magnetic low voltage is the wrong device and will give you flicker or drop-out at the low end. Spec the dimmer to the load: three pucks draw 12W total.
3) Can WAC puck lights be installed in a covered outdoor kitchen or a bathroom?
Damp location rated, so covered outdoor use and interior damp spots are in scope: a soffit over an outdoor kitchen, a covered porch ceiling, a bath vanity or a laundry. Direct rain or spray exposure is not, since damp rating does not cover wet locations. For an uncovered patio or anywhere the fixture takes weather, use a wet location rated fixture instead.
4) Do I need to buy bulbs or a driver for WAC HR-AC73 puck lights?
Nothing else to order to make them light. The LED modules are integral and included, the pucks run on 120V line voltage, and the kit carries its own power cord and roll switch. What you may still want is a mounting solution suited to your surface and a dimmer if you want them dimmed, which has to be an ELV or TRIAC type. Note the LED is a module, not a screw-in lamp, so there is no relamping in the usual sense.
5) Are WAC line voltage puck lights ADA compliant and Title 24 compliant for a California job?
Both, on record for the HR-AC73 pucks: ADA compliant and Title 24 compliant, and CEC listed, which is what a California inspector looks for on a residential or commercial lighting submittal. Certification is ETL and cETL, covering US and Canadian installs. They are not Energy Star rated, so if a rebate program or a spec line requires Energy Star specifically, this will not satisfy it.
