1) Will the WAC Lighting JTK-773 Radiant track head fit my existing J-track system?
The JTK-773 Radiant head is built for J-type track, and it runs on 120V line voltage. If your ceiling runs H-track or L-track, this head will not seat in it; you need a J-track head or a track-specific adapter for those systems.
2) Can I put the Radiant JTK-773 track head on a covered porch or in a bathroom with a shower?
No. The Radiant JTK-773 is rated for dry indoor locations only. Covered exterior soffits and shower or steam areas need a damp- or wet-rated fixture instead. Dry corridors, offices, retail floors and display walls are what this head is for.
3) Does the WAC Radiant JTK-773 track head meet California Title 24 and CEC requirements?
Yes on both counts. The Radiant JTK-773 is listed as Title 24 compliant and CEC listed, which is what a California spec job or a permit inspection will ask for. It is also UL and cUL certified, so it clears Canadian jobs. It is not an Energy Star product.
4) How much does the JTK-773 Radiant head drop below the track, and how much clearance do I need?
Plan for 6.13 inches of height at full aim and a 3.21 inch diameter shade. Overall the head measures 6.13 inches high, 4.88 inches long and 3.13 inches wide, so on a tight pendant run or near a shelf edge, check that the head can swivel through its full range without striking anything.
5) What finishes does the Radiant JTK-773 track head come in, and can I match a run of existing heads?
Two finishes: black (JTK-773-BK) and white (JTK-773-WT). For a property manager replacing a failed head on an existing Radiant run, order by that suffix to match. If your existing heads are brushed nickel or bronze, neither of these will match and you would be better off relamping the originals or replacing the whole run.
6) Do I need an electrician to install the WAC JTK-773, or does it just clip in?
No hardwiring at the head. The JTK-773 is a plug-in style track head, so it twists into a live J-track channel and locks, no junction box or splicing at the fixture. The track feed itself is the hardwired part, and that is already in place if you are adding or swapping heads on an existing run.
