WAC Lighting HTK-765-WT-1 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the WAC Lighting Radiant TK-773 track head fit H-type track?
The Radiant TK-773 is built as an H track fixture, so it mounts to H-system (Halo-pattern) line voltage track. It will not seat in J or L pattern track, and it is a line voltage head running on 120V, so don't put it on a low voltage or monorail system. If the track already in the ceiling is H-type 120V, this drops straight in.
2) Can this WAC Radiant track head be used in a bathroom, covered porch, or other damp area?
No. The Radiant TK-773 head carries a dry location rating and is an indoor fixture only. Keep it to conditioned interior spaces such as retail floors, offices, lobbies and residential rooms. A shower, a covered exterior soffit, or an unheated damp space needs a head listed for damp or wet locations instead.
3) How much room does the WAC Radiant TK-773 head need below the track?
Plan on about 6.13 inches of drop below the track for the head, with a body measuring 4.88 by 3.13 inches and a 3.21 inch diameter. In a low ceiling, a tight soffit, or anywhere the head sits near a door swing or shelving, that 6.13 inch projection is the number to check before you commit to a layout.
4) Does the WAC Radiant TK-773 track head meet California Title 24 for a commercial job?
It is Title 24 compliant and CEC listed, which is what a specifier or inspector on a California project asks for. It is also UL and cUL certified for use in the US and Canada, and marked ADA compliant. It does not carry Energy Star.
5) Should I use a lamped PAR20 track head like the Radiant TK-773 or an integrated LED head?
A lamped head like this one takes a field-replaceable PAR20 medium base lamp, so a maintenance tech can change color temperature, beam spread, or output later with a bulb instead of a fixture, and a failed lamp is a bulb swap rather than a ladder job with a new head. An integrated LED head puts the emitter and driver inside the housing, which gets you a tighter body and a fixed optic but ties you to that light output for the life of the fixture. For MRO and multi-tenant properties where a stock of PAR20 lamps already sits on the shelf, the lamped head is usually the easier fleet to maintain.
6) What finish and material is the WAC Radiant TK-773 track head?
White, on an aluminum body. Aluminum keeps the head light enough to hang off a track connector and sheds lamp heat, and the white finish is the one to pick when the track and ceiling are already white and you want the heads to read as flat as possible. It is part of WAC's Radiant collection, so it matches other Radiant heads on the same run.
