WAC Lighting LTK-774-BN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the WAC Lighting TK-774 Radiant track head fit my existing track, or do I need a specific system?
The TK-774 Radiant head is built for L Track, WAC's line voltage L-series track. It uses a plug-in track adapter rather than hardwiring, so it snaps into an energized L track run and can be repositioned anywhere along it. It will not seat in H track or J track profiles, and it is not compatible with low voltage monorail or rail systems. Confirm your run is L track before ordering.
2) Is the WAC TK-774 track head rated for a covered porch or a bathroom with a shower?
No. It carries a dry location rating and is listed for indoor use only. Keep it out of covered exterior soffits, unenclosed porches, and any spot exposed to steam or splash, such as directly over a tub or shower. Those openings need a damp or wet rated fixture instead.
3) Does the WAC Radiant TK-774 meet California Title 24 and ADA requirements for a commercial job?
Yes on both counts. The Radiant TK-774 is CEC listed and Title 24 compliant, which is what a California specifier needs to see on the submittal, and it is flagged ADA compliant. It carries UL and cUL certification for US and Canadian installs. It is not Energy Star rated, so if a rebate program requires Energy Star specifically, this head will not qualify.
4) What finish does the TK-774 Radiant head come in, and will it match other heads on the same run?
Brushed Nickel, ordered as LTK-774-BN. If you are adding heads to an existing L track run, match the track and connectors in brushed nickel as well, since the track components are ordered separately from the heads and a mismatched run shows badly on an exposed ceiling.
5) Should I use a line voltage track head like the TK-774 or go with a low voltage system?
A line voltage head like the Radiant TK-774 runs straight off 120V with no transformer anywhere in the system, which keeps the install simple and lets you swap in any standard PAR30 medium base lamp off the shelf for years to come. Low voltage track needs a transformer and uses proprietary lamps, but gives you smaller apertures and tighter beam control. For retail display, gallery walls, and general commercial accent work where lamp replacement by in-house maintenance matters, line voltage PAR30 is the more practical choice.
6) Is the WAC TK-774 track head metal or plastic?
Aluminum construction throughout the body. That matters for heat dissipation around the PAR30 lamp and holds up better than a molded housing in a retail or hospitality space where heads get aimed and re-aimed regularly.
