WAC Lighting JTK-720-BK – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the WAC TK-720 track head fit my existing Halo-style J track?
The TK-720 is a J-track fixture, so it drops onto J-series (three-circuit) track from a compatible system. It runs on 120V line voltage, so no separate transformer is needed anywhere in the run.
2) What bulb does the WAC TK-720 track head take, and is one included?
It takes a single PAR20 lamp, either incandescent or LED, up to 50 watts. No bulb ships with the head, so add lamps to the order.
3) Is the TK-720 track head okay in a covered exterior walkway or a bathroom?
No. It is rated for dry interior locations only, so keep it out of damp or wet areas such as covered exterior soffits, open walkways, or over a shower. Pick a damp- or wet-rated head for those.
4) Does the TK-720 track head come with the track, or do I order that separately?
The head alone. It is not sold as a complete system, so the J track sections, connectors, power feed and end caps are separate line items on the order.
5) How much does the WAC TK-720 head stick down from the track, and will it clear a low ceiling in gallery use?
The head measures 6.75 inches high, 4.5 inches long and 3.25 inches wide, with a 3.25 inch diameter shade. Add the height of your track and canopy when figuring clearance above displays or shelving.
6) What finishes does the WAC TK-720 track head come in so I can match the heads already on my track?
Two finishes: black (JTK-720-BK) and white (JTK-720-WT). White generally disappears against a white ceiling and white track; black is the usual choice for retail and gallery runs.
7) Will the WAC TK-720 pass a California Title 24 lighting inspection?
It is CEC listed but not Title 24 compliant, and it is not Energy Star rated. For a Title 24 job, specify a head that carries that compliance.
8) How many WAC TK-720 heads can I plan per circuit?
Each head draws up to 50 watts total at 120V. Divide your track circuit's rated capacity by 50 to get the maximum head count, then stay under it rather than at it.
9) Can the TK-720 head be mounted either way on the track for uplighting?
It has reversible mounting, so the head can be oriented in either direction on the track to aim up a wall or down onto merchandise. The body is aluminum, which keeps the weight down on long runs.
