WAC Lighting C4SL-FCS-BKCH – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the WAC Lighting Zoron C4 flush mount be used on an exposed outdoor ceiling, or does it need to be under a covered soffit?
The Zoron C4 is wet-location rated and carries an IP65 rating, so it can go on an exposed exterior ceiling as well as a covered porch or soffit. Rain contact is within what the rating covers. Mounting is to the ceiling and the fixture is hardwired, not plug-connected.
2) Will the Zoron C4 LED flush mount run on 277V commercial power without a separate driver?
Yes. The driver is concealed in the fixture and accepts 120V, 240V or 277V input, so the same part number works on a residential 120V porch circuit and on a 277V commercial lighting branch. That is what lets a property manager standardize one fixture across mixed-voltage buildings.
3) Is the color temperature on the Zoron C4 set at the factory or adjustable at install?
It is field-selectable at install across five settings: 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K. You set it on the fixture during installation, so one stocked item can be tuned to match warmer residential entries or cooler commercial walkways without reordering a different CCT.
4) What dimmers work with the WAC Zoron C4, and how low does it dim?
Dimming is 0-10V, ELV or TRIAC, with continuous dimming down to 5 percent. On a commercial job with a 0-10V control system it wires straight in; on a residential retrofit an ELV or TRIAC dimmer handles it. Match the dimmer protocol to one of those three or you will get flicker or dropout.
5) What do I need to specify when ordering a WAC Zoron C4 flush mount?
Three choices. Model (C4RL, C4RT, C4SL or C4ST), beam (Flood or Narrow Flood), and finish. Finishes are Arc Black, Arc White, Black Black, Black Chrome, Black Gold, Black Haze, Black White, White Black, White Chrome, White Gold, White Haze and White White. Color temperature is not an order choice because it is set in the field.
6) Is the Zoron C4 flush mount acceptable where Dark Sky and Title 24 compliance is required?
Yes. The Zoron C4 is Dark Sky Compliant, Title 24/CEC Compliant and Title 20 Compliant, and it is UL and cUL Listed with an IP65 wet rating. Note it is not Energy Star qualified and it is not ADA compliant, so it should not be specified where an ADA-compliant projection is called out.
7) Do I have to order lamps separately for the Zoron C4 outdoor flush mount?
No separate lamp is needed. The fixture ships with its integral LED module (one module, 15W) and a universal driver already in it, rated 50,000 hours. There is no screw base, so when the module reaches end of life you replace the fixture rather than relamp it.
8) Should I pick Flood or Narrow Flood on the Zoron C4?
Both beams come off the same 15W, 1240 lumen module with TIR optics, so the difference is spread, not output. Narrow Flood concentrates the same lumens into a tighter pool, which suits higher covered ceilings or accenting an entry door. Flood spreads it wider for general coverage on a patio or walkway soffit at normal ceiling heights.
9) Can the Zoron C4 outdoor flush mount be used indoors too?
Yes. Being wet rated means it is also fine in dry and damp interior locations, and the field-selectable CCT makes it usable indoors where the color temperature needs to match adjacent fixtures. A common use is running the same flush mount through a covered entry and into the lobby ceiling for a continuous look.
10) Will the Zoron C4 hold up on a coastal or high-traffic commercial exterior?
The housing is die-cast aluminum with a plastic TIR lens, and the trim comes in twelve finish combinations so you can match existing exterior hardware across a property. Aluminum plus the IP65 wet rating is what makes it suitable for exposed exterior ceilings rather than damp-only locations.
11) Is 90 CRI enough for a hotel entry or retail canopy where color rendering matters?
The Zoron C4 is rated 90 CRI, which is the level hospitality and retail specs normally call for on entries and canopies where skin tones and finishes need to read accurately. Combined with the regressed trim and TIR optics for glare control, it works in sightline areas rather than just service areas.
