WAC Lighting W4R-FCS-BKBK – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the WAC Zoron W4 outdoor wall light run on 277V commercial power?
Yes. The Zoron W4 uses a universal input driver that accepts 120V, 240V, or 277V, so the same fixture works on residential 120V and on 277V commercial lighting circuits. The driver is concealed inside the fixture, and the light is hardwired, not plug-in.
2) Is the Zoron W4 LED fixture rated for direct rain and exposed exterior walls?
It carries a Wet location rating and is IP65, along with UL and cUL listing, so it can go on an exposed facade, an uncovered entry, or a patio wall that takes direct rain.
3) Do I have to order a specific color temperature for the Zoron W4, or is it selectable on site?
No separate CCT part number to pick. The W4 is field-selectable across 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, and 5000K, set during installation, with 90 CRI output. For a property with mixed existing fixtures that means one stocked part can be matched to whatever the rest of the building is running.
4) What do I actually have to specify when ordering a WAC Zoron W4?
Three choices. Model, either W4R or W4S. Beam, Flood or Narrow Flood. And finish, from twelve two-part combinations: Arc Black, Arc White, Black Black, Black Chrome, Black Gold, Black Haze, Black White, White Black, White Chrome, White Gold, White Haze, White White. Color temperature is not an ordering choice because it is set at install.
5) Will the Zoron W4 dim with the 0-10V controls on my building system?
Yes. The W4 dims continuously to 5% and is compatible with 0-10V, ELV, and TRIAC dimming, so it works on a commercial 0-10V control system or on a residential ELV or TRIAC wall dimmer.
6) Does the Zoron W4 meet California Title 24 and Dark Sky requirements?
The Zoron W4 is stated as Dark Sky compliant, Title 24/CEC compliant, and Title 20 compliant, which is what a California exterior lighting package and a dark-sky ordinance both ask for. It is not Energy Star rated and it is not ADA compliant, so do not spec it where projecting hardware in an accessible path of travel is restricted.
7) Flood or Narrow Flood on the Zoron W4, which should I pick?
Both beams are offered on the W4. Narrow Flood concentrates the output for a tighter wash, which suits tall columns, narrow facade bays, or accenting a specific surface. Flood spreads the same 15W, up to 1240 lumen output wider for general coverage of an entry, patio, or walkway. The regressed trim and TIR optics control glare in either beam.
8) Do I need to buy lamps for the Zoron W4, and can the LED be replaced later?
No lamps to buy. The W4 ships with a single integrated LED module driven by a universal driver, rated 50,000 hours at 15W. There is no screw base, so relamping is not part of the maintenance plan for this fixture.
9) How durable is the Zoron W4 housing for a coastal or high-traffic exterior?
The housing is die-cast aluminum with a plastic TIR lens rather than glass, so there is no glass to break at an entry or a parking area. Finishes are offered as two-part trim and body combinations, twelve in all, including Black Chrome, Black Gold, White Haze, and Arc Black.
10) Where do I get the mounting and wiring details for the WAC Zoron W4?
WAC publishes both an installation guide and a specification sheet for the Zoron W4, and ZenSupply hosts both as PDFs on the product record. Those are the documents to hand your electrician for mounting pattern, driver wiring, and the CCT switch location.
