WAC Lighting 253603-CS-BZ – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can I add the WAC Cirkel deck light to my existing 12V landscape lighting system?
Yes. The Cirkel runs at 12V on a 9-12VAC magnetic power supply, and WAC states it works with most existing 12V landscape lighting systems. WAC's own transformers for it are SKU LC-2531100-SS and LC-2531200-SS. If your transformer is electronic low-voltage rather than magnetic, that is the one thing to sort out first, since this fixture is specified for a magnetic supply.
2) Can the color temperature be changed after the Cirkel light is installed?
It can. A CCT switch sits concealed behind the fixture and toggles between 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K in the field. That means one part number covers warm patio tones through to cool 5000K, so you can stock a single SKU across a property and set each run to match what is already there.
3) What is included with the WAC 253603-CS-BZ Cirkel so I can wire it in on site?
The fixture ships with 6 ft of 14x2 direct burial landscape cable already connected, two gel-filled direct burial wire nuts for the splice, and a mounting bracket with hardware for wall or fence/deck post mounting. The LED module is integral and included, so there is no lamp to buy. You still need the low-voltage transformer and any additional run cable.
4) Is the Cirkel deck light rated for a fully exposed outdoor location?
Yes. It carries an IP64 rating and is listed for Dry, Damp or Wet locations, with the location rating given as Wet. The body is K-alloy aluminum with anti-scratch and anti-corrosion treatment, which is what makes it suitable for coastal or weather-exposed decks and fence posts.
5) Is the WAC Cirkel approved for a commercial project that needs a listed fixture?
The Cirkel is ETL and cETL listed under UL 1298, which covers it for both US and Canadian installs, and it is noted as ADA compliant. Rated life is 50,000 hours at L70. It is not Energy Star qualified, so if your spec or rebate program requires Energy Star, this fixture will not satisfy it.
6) Where can the Cirkel be mounted, and will it light a walkway or just the surface it is on?
Mounting is surface/wall type, with the included bracket and hardware suited to a wall, fence or deck post. The beam is a flood distribution, so it washes a broader area rather than throwing a tight spot, which is why it suits steps, pathway edges, garden beds and patio perimeters. It is a hardwired fixture, not a plug-in or stake-mounted path light.
7) How many Cirkel fixtures can I run off one landscape transformer?
Each Cirkel draws 3W from a single integral LED module, so the load per fixture is very light compared with a halogen deck light. Divide your transformer's rated VA by 3W to size the run, and leave the usual headroom for cable losses on long runs. That low draw is the reason a lot of these can share one 9-12VAC magnetic supply.
8) Is the WAC Cirkel part of a larger landscape range I can standardize on?
It belongs to WAC's Limited Landscape collection, which is the budget-tier line within WAC's landscape lighting. Model 253603-CS-BZ is the bronze finish version with the 5-CCT selectable module, so specifying across a property means matching that finish code on the other fixtures in the same collection and feeding them from the same magnetic supply.
