1) Can the WAC Stella 60 inch ceiling fan be installed outdoors on a covered patio or an exposed deck?
Yes. The Stella carries a Wet location rating and is listed for indoor or outdoor use, so it can go on an open deck, pergola, or covered porch where it sees rain and blowing spray, not just a damp protected ceiling. The blades are ABS and the housing is aluminum, both of which hold up outdoors.
2) Will the Stella 60 inch fan mount on a vaulted or sloped ceiling?
Sloped ceilings are supported. The Stella is a downrod fan with a 6 inch canopy and 80 inches of fixture wire, so there is enough lead to run a longer downrod on a pitched ceiling. Overall fan height is 14 inches as supplied.
3) Will this WAC fan pass California Title 24 and Title 20 on a new build?
It will. The Stella is listed Title 24 JA8-2016 CEC compliant and Title 20 compliant, and it is Energy Star rated. It also carries ETL, cETL, UL, cUL, and CSA Canada listings, so it clears inspection on both sides of the border. ADA compliant as well.
4) How much room do I need for a 60 inch Stella fan, and how low will it hang?
Blade span is 60 inches, so you want a 60 inch clear circle with the fan roughly centered and at least 18 inches to the nearest wall on each side. Each blade is 27 inches. As shipped the assembly is 14 inches tall from ceiling to the bottom of the light, and adding a longer downrod for a sloped or high ceiling adds to that.
5) Does the WAC Stella fan come with a light, and can the LED be changed later?
A light kit is included and integrated, putting out 1100 lumens at 3000K through a frosted polycarbonate diffuser, aimed down. It is a single integrated LED source rated 50,000 hours, so there is no lamp to swap like a screw-base bulb. The fan is light kit adaptable.
6) Is a remote included with the Stella smart fan, or do I need a wall control?
A remote ships with the fan, so no separate control purchase is needed to operate it. You get 6 speeds and a reversible DC motor for winter updraft. The blades themselves are not reversible, so the finish you pick is the finish you see.
7) Is a canopy cap or flush-mount cap included if I want to install the Stella without the downrod?
No cap is included. The Stella is a downrod fan with a 6 inch canopy, so plan on rod mounting it. If ceiling height is tight, a hugger-style fan is the better call than trying to close-mount this one.
8) What finishes does the Stella 60 inch fan come in for matching other units in a building?
