Confirm the slope limit of the canopy on the specific WAC Smart Fan you are hanging, since that, not the rod, sets the maximum pitch.
6) For a property with several fans, can I standardize on one downrod part across units?
You can, as long as the ceiling heights are consistent and the fans are all WAC Smart Fans. Spec the DR72 in a single finish across the job and you carry one line item and one spare on the truck. Where ceiling heights vary between floor plans, you will need the corresponding shorter or longer rod for those openings rather than forcing the 72 inch everywhere.
