Watts PLENUM+-2SCH40-PIPE10FT – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size and wall thickness is the Watts PLENUM+-2SCH40-PIPE10FT, and will it mate with my existing 2 inch acid waste fittings?
It is 2 inch nominal, Schedule 40 wall. Schedule 40 is a dimensional standard, so the pipe carries the same outside diameter and socket dimensions as any other 2 inch Schedule 40 pipe and drops into 2 inch Schedule 40 PVDF fittings. Match the material as well as the size: order PVDF fittings for a PVDF system rather than mixing in polypropylene or CPVC acid waste parts, since the joining method and material are not interchangeable between those systems.
2) How long is each stick of Watts Plenum+ 2 inch PVDF pipe, and how do I figure out how many to order?
Each piece is 10 feet. Take the developed length of the run, including drops, offsets and stub-outs, divide by 10 and round up, then add for cut waste at every fitting and for the pieces you will lose making up short takeoffs. On a lab bench run with a lot of branch connections, ordering an extra length or two per run is normal.
