Metallics SCU0100 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What conduit size does the Metallics SCU0100 universal strut clamp fit?
The SCU0100 is the 1 inch size in the Metallics universal strut clamp line, so it is made to secure 1 inch conduit to strut channel. For other runs in the same raceway you would order the matching size clamp rather than forcing this one onto a different diameter.
2) Is the SCU0100 strut clamp a one-piece clamp that mounts straight to strut channel?
Yes. It is a universal strut clamp, meaning it is designed to fasten conduit directly to strut channel without a separate pipe strap and standoff. One clamp per support point on a 1 inch run.
3) What finish is the Metallics SCU0100 clamp supplied in, and is it suitable for damp indoor areas?
The SCU0100 carries an EG (electrogalvanized) finish. Electrogalvanized hardware is the usual choice for dry and normally damp interior work such as mechanical rooms, parking structures under cover, and tenant build-outs. For direct weather exposure or corrosive environments, specify a hot-dip galvanized or stainless clamp instead.
4) What is the Metallics part number I should give my supplier for the 1 inch universal strut clamp?
Order it as Metallics SCU0100. That number covers the 1 inch universal strut clamp in the EG finish and is the only configuration under that part number, so there is no size or finish suffix to add.
5) Do I need to order anything else to attach the SCU0100 to strut?
Plan on the channel itself and the strut nut and bolt hardware that your channel system uses, since the clamp is the conduit-holding piece of the assembly. The clamp is sold as the SCU0100 item only.
