Metallics RJK4 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How big is the base flashing on the RJK4 roof jack?
It is an 11 inch roof jack, so plan your shingle or membrane overlap around an 11 inch flashing footprint. That matters when the penetration sits close to a ridge, valley, or parapet, where you need room to lap the flashing properly.
2) What is a roof jack like the Metallics RJK4 used for?
A roof jack is the flashing boot that seals a vertical pipe or conduit penetration where it passes through the roof deck. The flange laps into the roofing and the collar closes around the pipe so water runs off instead of tracking down the penetration. The RJK4 is sized for penetrations in the 4 inch to 8-1/4 inch range.
3) What part number do I order for the Metallics 11 inch roof jack?
Order Metallics RJK4. That is the full designation for the 11 inch jack covering 4 inch through 8-1/4 inch pipe, and it is the only model on that size.
