Metallics RJK2 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What pipe sizes does the Metallics RJK2 roof jack kit cover?
The RJK2 roof jack kit covers pipe sizes from 1/4 inch up to 3 inches, so one kit handles everything from small conduit or refrigerant line penetrations through 3 inch pipe. If your penetration is larger than 3 inches, this is the wrong kit.
2) How big is the base flange on the Metallics RJK2 roof jack?
The RJK2 uses a 6 inch base. That is the footprint you need clear and flashed on the roof deck around the penetration, so plan your hole location at least 3 inches from any curb, parapet, or adjacent penetration to seat the base flat.
3) Is the Metallics RJK2 sold as a complete kit or just the boot?
It ships as one complete kit (1 Kit), not as a loose boot or flange, so the roof jack assembly comes together under a single part number, RJK2.
4) Can I use one roof jack for several different conduit sizes on the same building?
Yes, within range. Because the RJK2 is rated for 1/4 inch through 3 inch pipe, a property manager or electrical contractor standardizing rooftop penetrations across a portfolio can stock the single RJK2 kit instead of a separate jack per conduit size, as long as every penetration is 3 inches or smaller.
5) Does the Metallics RJK2 roof jack come in more than one size or model?
There is one configuration, model RJK2, with the 6 inch base and 1/4 inch to 3 inch pipe range. There are no finish or size options to specify on the order.
