Metallics RJK2B – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What pipe or conduit sizes does the Metallics RJK2B roof jack cover?
The RJK2B roof jack is a stepped 1/4 to 3 inch unit, so one piece covers the whole range by cutting the cone down to the step that matches your penetration. Cut at the step just under your conduit or pipe outside diameter so the boot grips it.
2) How big is the base flange on the Metallics RJK2B roof jack?
Six inch base. That is the flange footprint you need to plan for when you lay out the penetration, so keep at least that much clear flat deck or roofing around the pipe for the flange to seat and seal against.
3) Is the Metallics RJK2B meant for electrical conduit roof penetrations?
That is its intended use. Metallics catalogs the RJK2B on the electrical side, and it is the flashing boot that seals where conduit passes through a roof deck. For plumbing vent stacks larger than 3 inches you need a larger-diameter jack instead.
