Metallics SCR0200 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size conduit does the Metallics SCR0200 strut clamp hold?
The SCR0200 is a 2 inch rigid conduit strut clamp, so it is sized for 2 inch trade size rigid metal conduit. Trade size is not the same as the outside diameter of the pipe, so match it by the conduit's marked trade size rather than measuring the OD.
2) Does the SCR0200 clamp mount to standard strut channel?
Yes. It is a strut clamp, built to fasten 2 inch rigid conduit to channel framing rather than directly to a wall or deck. It drops into the channel slot and is secured with a channel nut and bolt, so you need a run of strut already in place to use it.
3) Is the Metallics 2 inch rigid strut clamp galvanized?
The SCR0200 is electrogalvanized (EG). That is a zinc plated steel finish suited to dry indoor work. For outdoor, damp, or corrosive locations, specify a hot dip galvanized or stainless clamp instead.
4) Do I need anything else to install a 2 inch rigid strut clamp on a conduit rack?
Plan on the strut channel itself plus a channel nut and bolt for each clamp, and whatever hardware anchors the strut to the structure. The clamp only handles the pipe-to-channel connection on a 2 inch rigid run.
