Metallics MFHA200 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Metallics MFHA200 roof jack a one-piece or two-piece flashing?
Two-piece. The MFHA200 comes as a base flashing plus a separate collar or cap section, which lets the top piece be set after the pipe is in place and adjusted to the pitch of the run instead of being fixed to the base.
2) What material and gauge is the MFHA200 roof jack made from?
Galvanized steel in 26 gauge. That is the common sheet gauge for residential and light commercial roof flashings, and the zinc coating is what handles exposure once the jack is set in the roofing.
3) Can a 2 inch roof jack be used for a vent pipe as well as electrical conduit?
A 2 inch galvanized roof jack flashes a 2 inch round penetration regardless of what runs through it, so the same part is used for conduit risers, vent pipe, and similar 2 inch stacks. What decides the fit is the outside diameter of the pipe matching the 2 inch collar, not the trade it belongs to.
