1) Can the Intermatic T101R be mounted outdoors on a building exterior?
Yes. The T101R ships in a gray indoor/outdoor rated metal enclosure, so it can go on an exterior wall for parking lot, landscape, sign, or security lighting as well as inside a mechanical room. Mount it upright so the door sheds water and use proper fittings at the conduit knockouts.
2) Does the Intermatic T101R switch both hot legs or just one?
Just one. It is SPST, single pole single throw, so it makes and breaks a single hot conductor to the load. If your application needs both legs of a two-wire 120/240 load opened, an SPST timer is the wrong configuration and you want a DPST model instead.

Up to 12 ON/OFF operations in a 24 hour cycle, with a minimum of one hour between a trip-on and the next trip-off. You add pairs of trippers on the dial for each cycle you want. If you need shorter intervals than an hour, or different schedules on different days, this 24-hour dial will not do it.
4) Does the Intermatic T101R hold its schedule during a power outage?
No. It is a mechanical time switch driven by a synchronous 120 VAC clock motor, with no battery or electronic backup. When power drops, the dial stops turning. After an extended outage the dial will be behind real time and you have to reset it to the current time of day, or your lighting will run late by the length of the outage.
5) Can I turn the lights on manually without disturbing the timer schedule on a T101R?
Yes. There is a manual override lever that flips the load on or off right now, independent of where the dial sits. The programmed trippers stay set and the timer picks the schedule back up at the next trip point. That is the feature property managers use when a tenant needs the lot lit early.
