They are made from 18-8 stainless steel, the austenitic 300 series grade used where corrosion resistance matters, so they hold up in damp and exterior locations far better than plated carbon steel. Minimum tensile strength is 80,000 psi, with a Rockwell hardness rating of BBS-B9S. Note that tensile values for stainless screws are approximations; there is no single performance standard for stainless machine screws.

Metallics lists the JSPM6SS as both Buy American compliant and ARRA compliant. Country of origin is recorded as multiple, so if a contract requires a single named country of manufacture on the submittal, confirm the origin on the lot you receive.
