1) Will the Accentra YA192 indicator kit work on my Yale 8800 mortise lock?
The YA192 indicator kit is built for Yale 8800 Series mortise locks with sectional (rose) trim, and only for functions 8808, 8808-2, and 8809. If your 8800 has escutcheon trim rather than sectional trim, or a function outside those three, this is not the right kit. The lock itself is not included, so you are adding the indicator to a lock you already have or are ordering separately.
2) Does one YA192 kit put an indicator on both sides of the door?
No. Each YA192 kit is a single side indicator plate with mechanism, screw pack, plastic template, and instructions. If the room needs status visible from the corridor and from inside, order two kits, one for each side. The outside trim kit also comes with cylinder prep, so it accepts a keyed function on the exterior side.
3) What door thickness does the Yale YA192 indicator kit fit?
Standard kits are made for 1-3/4 inch (44mm) doors, which is the usual commercial door thickness. Kits for thicker doors are available on request, so if you are working a 2 inch or heavier leaf it has to be specified rather than pulled off the shelf.
4) Do I need to know the door handing before ordering a YA192 indicator?
Handing is an order choice, left-handed or right-handed, but it is not a trap. The kit ships right hand and is field reversible to left hand, so a locksmith can flip it on site if the door turns out the other way. Useful when you are ordering for a floor of doors and the handing schedule is not fully confirmed.
5) What do the V10 through V60 indicator codes on the Yale YA192 mean?
They set what the window says and what colors it uses. V10 reads Unlocked/Locked in green/red, V20 reads Vacant/Occupied in green/red, V30 is icons only in green/red. V40, V50 and V60 are the same three in white/red instead. Pick wording by room type: Vacant/Occupied for restrooms, patient rooms and nursing rooms, Unlocked/Locked for classroom and meeting room doors where staff are thinking about the lock state, icons only where you have multilingual traffic or want no text at all.
6) Can I add occupancy indicators to existing Yale mortise locks without replacing the locks?

No cylinder ships with the kit. The outside plate comes prepped for a standard mortise cylinder so a keyed function works through the indicator, but you supply the cylinder, which is what you want anyway if the opening has to key into an existing facility system.
