The Adams Rite MS+1890 Series Deadlock/Deadlatch delivers maximum security deadlock protection for after-hours security combined with deadlatch convenience during business hours. This Grade 1 commercial lock features a case measuring 1" x 7-3/8" x depth with steel construction and corrosion-resistant plating. The eight-ply laminated stainless steel deadlock bolt measures 5/8" x 1-3/8" with 13/16" throw and includes an alumina-ceramic core to defeat hacksaw attacks while the hook shape repels pry bar attempts.

Installation & Operation

1. Review manufacturer specifications and verify door preparation requirements including door thickness (standard 1-3/4"), backset selection, and mortise preparation dimensions.
2. Use manufacturer-provided templates to mark mounting hole locations accurately on door and frame surfaces for the 1" x 7-3/8" case.
3. Prepare door mortise to accommodate case dimensions and drill cylinder holes for selected backset configuration (31/32", 1-1/8", or 1-1/2").
4. Install lock case in door mortise and secure with provided mounting hardware per manufacturer torque specifications.
5. Install armored strike in door frame ensuring proper alignment with both deadlock bolt and latchbolt positions.
6. Install mortise cylinder (sold separately) and test 360° operation for hookbolt projection/retraction and 120° additional turn for latchbolt operation.
7. Verify proper bolt alignment, smooth operation, and security function. Refer to manufacturer documentation for complete installation details and troubleshooting.
