No, communication is hands-free. The visitor presses the call button once and then speaks normally, which matters for an ADA-conscious entry, for a delivery driver with both hands full, and for a lobby where you do not want to explain a push-to-talk to every guest.
7) Will an IP43 rated door station survive direct rain on an uncovered wall?
IP43 protects against solid objects over 1mm and against spraying water angled up to 60 degrees from vertical, so the IF-DA handles wind driven spray under an overhang or a recessed entry. It is not a submersion or driving rain rating. On a fully exposed wall with no soffit, mount it under a rain hood.
