Both paths are covered. A 12V DC 1.5A supply comes in the box, and the unit also takes PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) over its network port. If you are pulling it off a PoE+ switch you can leave the adapter in the box, but the switch has to be 802.3at, not plain 802.3af.

Two Gigabit Ethernet ports, with PoE+ integrated. The second port gives you a hand-off in a closet where you are short a switch port. Everything is gigabit, so it will not throttle a run that is already 1G end to end.
