The IX-MV7 is an IP addressable hands-free master station with a 7" color touchscreen. It can be wall or desk mounted (desk stand included). It connects to a network using Cat-5e/6 cable and is SIP compliant. Audio and video of active conversations can be captured and stored on a microSD™ card. Each master station has an address book of 500 stations and can monitor a single station or scan monitor several stations with-in the address book. The master station offers line supervision and a scheduled device check of stations in its address book. It has the ability to page all units or groups of units and offers bell scheduling with 50 events per day.
The master station has 8 speed dial buttons that can be used to call, page, monitor, or control a contact closure. It has a built in camera with privacy shutter. The master station can view a selected intercom's camera as well as an associated ONVIF Profile S camera by using the picture in picture function. It has the ability to release the door that is associated with the station that it is communicating with. Stations can be called by using the directory or by direct dialing the stations number.

Aiphone IX-MV7-B – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Aiphone IX-MV7 master station need its own power supply, or will PoE run it?
PoE runs it. The IX-MV7 is 802.3af PoE, Class 0, so a single Cat-5e or Cat-6 run off a PoE switch or injector carries both power and data. No separate transformer or power run to the station location.
2) Can the Aiphone IX-MV7 register to our phone system as a SIP endpoint?
The IX-MV7 is SIP 2.0 compliant and the data specifically names integration with Cisco Unified Call Manager. That lets the master station live on the same call platform as the desk phones rather than as a standalone intercom island.
3) What is the difference between the IX-MV7 B, W, HB, HB-L and HW-JP versions?
Five build options. B and W are hands-free stations in black and white. HB and HW-JP add a handset, black and white respectively, for conversations you do not want the whole lobby hearing. HB-L is the black handset version with T-coil, which couples to a hearing aid set to T. Pick hands-free for a front desk or unmanned entry, handset where the talk needs to be private.
4) Can the IX-MV7 release the door from the screen, or do I still need a separate release button?
Door release is built in. The master station can release the door associated with whichever station it is talking to, so a receptionist answers the call and buzzes the visitor in from the same 7 inch touchscreen. The eight speed dial buttons can also be assigned to control a contact closure, which is how you drive a second gate or a door that is not tied to the station on the call.
5) How many intercom stations can one IX-MV7 handle for a large building?
Each master station carries an address book of 500 stations. It can monitor one of them at a time or scan monitor several in sequence, and it will page every unit at once or just a group. For a campus or a multi building portfolio that means one station at the desk covers the whole address book rather than one entrance.
6) Can the IX-MV7 show my existing IP security cameras alongside the door camera?
Yes, if the cameras are ONVIF Profile S. The IX-MV7 is ONVIF Profile S compliant and its picture-in-picture function puts an ONVIF Profile S IP camera and an Aiphone video intercom on screen at the same time. So the guard sees who is at the door and the wider approach view together, without a second monitor.
7) Do I need a wall box for the IX-MV7 or can it sit on the reception counter?
Either. The IX-MV7 wall mounts or sits on a desk, and the desk stand ships with the station, so a counter install needs nothing extra beyond the network drop.
8) Does the IX-MV7 record the video and audio of intercom calls?
It captures and stores audio and video of active conversations on a microSD card. The card is not supplied with the station, so add one to the order if you intend to keep a record of entry calls.
9) Will the IX-MV7 tell us if a door station goes offline?
The master station runs line supervision and a scheduled device check across the stations in its address book, so a dead or disconnected entrance station gets flagged rather than discovered the next time somebody presses the button. That is the difference between this and a plain analog intercom head end for a facility that has to be able to prove the entry system was working.
10) Can the IX-MV7 handle class change bells or shift tones as well as intercom calls?
Bell scheduling is built in, at up to 50 events per day, and the station pages all units or selected groups. For a school or a plant that means the same head end runs period tones or shift changes and handles door calls, instead of buying a separate tone generator.
11) What happens at an entrance when nobody is at the desk to answer the intercom?
The IX-MV7 can be set to act as a virtual receptionist, which is what covers unmanned waiting areas and unstaffed lunch hours. Visitors still get handled, and because the station holds an address book of 500, the call can also be routed to another master elsewhere in the building.
12) Can two IX-MV7 stations be used for face to face video between offices?
Yes. The IX-MV7 has a built-in camera, so two of them do two-way master-to-master video conferencing. The camera has a privacy shutter for when the office does not want to be viewable, and staff can work hands-free or push-to-talk.
13) Is the Aiphone IX-MV7 a commercial grade intercom or a residential one?
Commercial. The IX-MV7 is classed as a commercial IP intercom master station in the IX Series, and the feature set matches it: PoE network wiring, SIP registration, ONVIF camera integration and supervised stations. A single family house does not need any of that.
