The JO-DV door station is die-cast zinc with an IP54 enclosure rating and IK08 impact resistance, and it operates from -40F to 140F (-40C to 60C). IP54 means dust protected and splash resistant, so it handles weather in a covered or exposed entry, and IK08 is what makes it the vandal resistant version rather than a plastic residential station. 4) Can the Aiphone JOS-1VW intercom release my door strike, and what kind of lock will it drive?
Door release on the JO-1MDW monitor is a normally open dry contact rated 24V AC/DC at 500mA. That is a switch closure, not a power source, so it triggers your lock circuit rather than powering the strike. Any electric strike or maglock whose control draw stays inside 24V and 500mA can be switched directly; anything heavier needs a relay or its own power supply between the monitor and the lock.
