1) Difference between the Alarm Controls TS-3 and the TS-3-2 exit button?
Contacts. The TS-3 gives you a momentary SPDT switch rated 10A at 35 VDC or 120 VAC. The TS-3-2 is momentary DPDT but only 1A. If you are switching a maglock or door strike load directly, the 10A SPDT is the one. Take the DPDT when you need a second isolated set of contacts to signal an alarm panel, access panel, or camera trigger at the same time, and the current is small.
2) Can I get the TS-3 station with a different button label than PUSH TO EXIT?
Three labeling choices. Standard TS-3 reads "PUSH TO EXIT". Order TS-3ENTER for a button reading "PUSH TO ENTER", which is what you want on the secure side of an entry vestibule or a receptionist release. TS-3BLANK ships with the button unmarked, for a door where the wording would be wrong or where you are labeling it yourself.
3) What is a comparable single gang illuminated exit push button to the Alarm Controls TS-3?
The Dortronics 5215-SPB Series exit release is the closest peer we carry: a single gang plate with an illuminated square push button, like the TS-3, but with a 1-1/2 inch button rather than the TS-3's 2 inch. The larger button is the practical difference on a door people hit with a cart, an elbow, or a gloved hand.
4) How does the TS-3 exit button wire in, and does it come with a timer?
The switch is terminated with 10 inch colored leads, so you splice to your field wiring in the box rather than land wires on screw terminals. Contacts are momentary: the relay transfers only while a hand is on the button. If your maglock needs to stay released for a walk-through interval, get the timing from the access panel or a separate timer module, since holding the button is what holds the contact here.
5) What finish is the TS-3 exit station plate, and will it match my other wall plates?
Satin stainless steel, on a 430 stainless single gang plate. It sits next to standard 430 stainless device plates and card reader plates without a visible mismatch, which is the usual reason it gets specified in corridors and lobbies where the other faceplates are already stainless.
