1) How long does the Alarm Controls TS-5T keep the door unlocked after the button is pressed?
The TS-5T holds its timed output for anywhere from 2 to 44 seconds, and the delay is adjustable on the unit. Press the button, the relay times out, and the door relocks on its own. 2) What is the difference between the TS-5T and the TS-5-2T?
Contact count. The TS-5T gives you a single SPDT timed output. The TS-5-2T gives you two SPDT sets, one momentary and one timed, so you can drop the lock on the timer while simultaneously signaling something else instantly, like a door position alarm shunt or an access panel input. Both use the same 2 inch blue illuminated square button with the ADA symbol, red LED and single gang plate. If you only need to release a mag lock, the TS-5T is enough.
3) Will the TS-5T push button fit a standard single gang box, and how deep does it need to be?
It mounts on a single gang wall plate, so a standard single gang box or ring is what you want. Allow 2-1/2 inches of switch depth behind the plate. A shallow box or a ring mounted on a thin mullion may not give you that clearance, so check depth before you cut in.
4) Can the TS-5T switch a 24V magnetic lock directly?
The timed contacts are rated 2A at 35 VDC, so they will carry a typical 12 or 24 VDC mag lock or strike drawing under 2 amps on the dry contact. Anything above that current, or any AC line voltage load, needs to go through an interposing relay or the power supply's relay input instead of straight through the button.
