Metallics TS115 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size wedge anchor is the Metallics TS115, and what is it made of?
The TS115 is a 1 x 15 wedge anchor in zinc plated steel. The 1 inch figure is the anchor diameter and 15 inches is the overall length, so it is a heavy diameter anchor for deep embedment into cured concrete, not a light duty fastener for block or hollow base material. Zinc plating suits dry interior use; for exterior or damp locations a stainless or hot dip galvanized anchor is the normal call.
2) How many anchors come in a box of Metallics TS115?
Five anchors per box. The TS115 is packaged as a box, so a job needing a larger count has to be ordered in multiples of 5. At 1 inch diameter that is normal for this class of anchor, where counts per box drop as the diameter climbs.
3) Can I use the TS115 anchor to hang electrical strut and equipment from a concrete deck?
That is what this one is for. The TS115 is a Metallics electrical fastener, a 1 inch by 15 inch wedge anchor used where strut, trapeze supports, transformers, switchgear frames or machinery get anchored into poured concrete. The 15 inch length is for thick slabs or where a long stickout is needed above the surface for stacked framing. It is a concrete anchor only, so it is not a substitute for a toggle or sleeve anchor in hollow masonry or drywall.
