1) What size hole do I drill for the Metallics TS4334C 1/2 inch wedge anchor?
Drill 1/2 inch. Wedge anchors use a hole the same nominal diameter as the anchor, so a 1/2 x 3-3/4 inch wedge anchor goes into a 1/2 inch carbide-bit hole drilled slightly deeper than the embedment you need, with the dust blown out before setting.
2) Can I use the TS4334C wedge anchor in block or brick instead of concrete?
No. Wedge anchors are rated for solid, poured concrete only. The expansion clip needs continuous solid material to grip, so hollow block, mortar joints and brick will spall or pull out. For block or masonry use a sleeve anchor or a screw-type masonry anchor instead.
3) Is a zinc plated wedge anchor like the TS4334C OK for outdoor or wet locations?
Keep it indoors or in dry interior slabs. The TS4334C is steel with zinc plating, which is a sacrificial coating that gives limited corrosion protection only. For exterior, damp, or chemically exposed concrete, specify a stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized wedge anchor in the same 1/2 x 3-3/4 inch size.
4) How thick a fixture can a 3-3/4 inch wedge anchor hold down?
The 3-3/4 inch overall length has to cover embedment plus whatever you are fastening plus the nut and washer. On a 1/2 inch wedge anchor the usable fixture thickness is what is left after your required embedment into the slab, so thin plate, strut channel, conduit standoffs and equipment feet are the normal use. For thicker bases or grout beds, step up to a longer 1/2 inch anchor.
5) Will a 1/2 inch wedge anchor work for hanging electrical strut and conduit racks from a concrete deck?
That is the common application. Overhead installs need the hole cleaned out thoroughly and the nut torqued to expand the clip.
6) Is the Metallics TS4334C a removable anchor?
No, treat it as permanent. A wedge anchor expands a steel clip against the concrete wall and cannot be backed out of the hole once set. You can remove the nut and the fixture, but the anchor body stays; drive it flush or cut it off if you need the surface clear. If you need a removable fastener, use a threaded insert or a drop-in anchor with a machine bolt.
7) Can I order the TS4334C in a smaller quantity than 100?
