1) Can I use the Metallics J5060 anchor in concrete block and brick, or only poured concrete?
Sleeve anchors are the general purpose masonry anchor for concrete, grout filled block and solid brick, because the expanding sleeve spreads load over a longer bearing area than a wedge anchor's single expansion clip. The J5060 is the 1/2 inch by 6 inch version. For hollow block cells or drywall, this is the wrong fastener, use a toggle or hollow wall anchor.
2) Is the Metallics J5060 anchor OK for outdoor or damp locations?
The J5060 is zinc plated steel, which is a dry to lightly damp interior finish. Zinc plating gives limited corrosion resistance, so for exterior exposure, wash down areas or coastal work you want a stainless or hot dip galvanized anchor instead.
