Metallics TS3312D Anchors 3/8 x 3-1/2 Wdg St-zn (Box 100)

Wedge anchors drill at the same diameter as the anchor body, so the TS3312D takes a 3/8 inch carbide hammer-drill bit in concrete. Drill deeper than the embedment you need so debris has somewhere to go, blow the hole clean, then drive the anchor until the threads sit where you want them and tighten to expand the wedge clip.

Wedge anchors are a solid-concrete fastener. The expansion clip needs the uniform compressive strength of poured concrete to grip, so hollow block, brick and mortar joints are the wrong base material for the TS3312D. In hollow masonry use a sleeve anchor or a toggle-type anchor instead.

The TS3312D is a zinc-plated steel wedge anchor. Zinc plating handles dry interior work and occasional damp, but it is not a stainless anchor. For exterior exposure, wash-down areas, pool rooms or anything coastal, specify a stainless 3/8 inch wedge anchor rather than the zinc version.

The TS3312D ships 100 anchors to the box, each with its nut and washer as supplied by Metallics. That quantity suits strut and trapeze hanger runs, conduit rack standoffs, or equipment base plates where you are setting the same anchor repeatedly across a job.

That is the common use. A 3/8 inch wedge anchor is the standard size for overhead strut channel, trapeze hangers and threaded-rod drop supports in concrete, and the 3-1/2 inch length gives embedment plus thread for the nut. Set it so the threaded end protrudes enough to take the strut nut and washer, and keep anchors away from slab edges and existing cracks.

No. The TS3312D expands a wedge clip permanently against the concrete wall of the hole, so it is a one-time anchor. You can back the nut off to free the fixture, but the body stays in the slab. Cut or drive it flush and set a new anchor in fresh concrete rather than trying to reuse the hole.
