Appleton™ PLG Close-Up Plugs and BR Reducers are explosionproof and dust-ignitionproof fittings for use with threaded metal conduit and IMC. The close-up plugs close threaded conduit openings, while the BR reducers create a smaller size opening, and the family spans 1/2" thru 6" in copperfree aluminum, malleable iron, or steel construction. Both are rated for Class I, Division 1 and 2, Groups A, B, C, D; Class II, Division 1 and 2, Groups E, F, G; and Class III hazardous locations, making them a reliable choice for demanding industrial and petrochemical environments.

Key Features

• Trade Size: Available 1/2" thru 6" for closing threaded conduit openings or reducing to a smaller opening size on threaded metal conduit and IMC.
• Durable Construction: BR Reducers are copperfree (4/10 of 1% max.) aluminum with an epoxy powder coat finish, or malleable iron with a triple-coat finish of zinc electroplate, chromate, and epoxy powder coat.
• PLG Plug Materials: Sizes 1/2 thru 1 are copperfree aluminum with a natural finish or steel with zinc electroplate; sizes 1-1/4 thru 6 are copperfree aluminum with a natural finish or malleable iron with zinc electroplate.
• Integral Bushing: Smooth, rounded integral bushing in each hub protects conductor insulation.
• Accurate Threading: Accurately tapped, tapered threads deliver tight, rigid joints and dependable ground continuity.
• Explosionproof & Dust-Ignitionproof: Rated for hazardous location installations per NEC/CEC classifications.
• Finish Option: Urethane paint available on select items (add suffix -UP).
