1) How narrow a stile can the Arrow 3700 Series wide stile pushpad device mount on?
You need 4-1/2 inches of stile if you're using trim, and 3-1/2 inches without trim. Aluminum storefront doors are usually narrower than that, so for a glass front opening go with a narrow stile device instead, like the Corbin Russwin ED4400 or the Von Duprin 3327A.
2) Will this Arrow exit device secure a pair of doors without a mullion?
Yes. A surface vertical rod device latches at the head and at the threshold rather than into the jamb, so the 37-01 works on the active or inactive leaf of a pair with no center mullion. A rim device on the same pair would need a mullion between the leaves.
3) Does the Arrow 3700 Series meet ADA and Grade 1 requirements for a school or hospital exit?
It's BHMA Certified Grade 1 to ANSI/BHMA A156.3 and meets ANSI/BHMA A117.1 for accessibility, plus NFPA 101 compliance for egress. Yes. The Arrow 3700 Series 37-01 is ordered handed, left hand reverse or right hand reverse. It does take a cylinder in conventional or small format for outside control options. If you need outside lever entry as a catalogued function, the Corbin Russwin ED5400 is a wide stile surface vertical rod that accepts trim.
9) Will the Arrow 37-01 latch into my existing top strike?
The latchbolt throws 3/4 inch, which is the common projection for surface vertical rod top latches, so it will usually engage a standard head strike. Rod length and strike location still have to match your door height, and the bottom latch needs the floor strike set at the right point, so plan on setting both strikes when you install.
10) Can the Arrow 3700 Series go on a wood door, or metal only?
