Arrow MK Series offer the designer, architect and contractor simple solutions to accessibility
requirements. Their clean designs, architectural finishes and available functions make them ideal for commercial applications where heavy duty grade one hardware may not be necessary.

All Arrow MK Series locks are U.L. and c.U.L. listed for use on 3 hour, A label or lesser doors and are certified to conform to the requirements of ANSI/BHMA A156.2, Series 4000, Grade 2.

Standard features 

  • Lock Chassis: Cold rolled steel with zinc dichromate finish for corrosion resistance. Requires standard 2-1/8" (53.97mm) bore through door.
  • Door thickness: Fits 1-3/8" (34.93mm) to 1-3/4" (44.45mm) doors standard.
  • Backset: 2-3/8" (60.32mm) standard. 2-3/4" (69.85mm), 3-3/4" (95.25mm) and 5" (127mm) available.
  • Latch: Brass with 1/2" (12.7mm) throw. Latch housing is steel, with zinc dichromate finish for corrosion resistance. 7/8" (22.225mm) bore in edge of door is required.
  • Latch Front: Brass, bronze or stainless steel. Standard faceplate for 2-3/8” (60.32.mm) backset measures 2-1/4” (57.15mm) x 1” (25.40mm) with a flat front, for 2-3/4” (69.85mm) backset standard faceplate measures 2-1/4” (57.15mm) x 1-1/8” (28.57mm) with beveled front 1/8” (3.17mm) in 2” (50.8mm).
  • Strike: Brass, bronze or stainless steel. Standard “T” strike measures 2-3/4" (69.85mm) x 1-1/8" (28.57mm). Optional ANSI A115.1 strike measures 4-7/8" (123.82mm) x 1-1/4"(31.75mm). All strikes have a 1-1/4" (31.75mm) lip to center dimension.
  • Cylinder, Standard: – Solid brass 6 pin cylinder with Arrow “A” keyway, keyed to 5 pin for stock. Can be masterkeyed, grandmaster keyed and construction masterkeyed. Conventional cylinders are also available in a variety of competitive manufacturer’s keyways. Supplied with two 5 pin brass keys for stock. Available in Schlage CS keyway and other competitive keyways.

Arrow MK04-BD-26D – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the patio function on the Arrow MK04 knob lock actually do?
The MK04 is a push-button patio/privacy lock. Both knobs retract the dead locking latch bolt normally. Pushing the button on the inside knob locks the outside knob; turning the inside knob or closing the door releases it. There is no key and no outside emergency release, so Arrow's own caution applies: don't put it on a room that has no other way out.
2) Will the Arrow MK04 fit a 1-3/8 inch door, and what holes does it need?
It covers 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch doors as standard, which takes in most commercial wood and hollow metal openings. Prep is a standard 2-1/8 inch cross bore through the face and a 7/8 inch bore in the edge of the door for the latch.
3) Which latch and strike come with the Arrow MK04, and will it work in my existing frame prep?
It ships with the 104 springlatch on a 2-3/4 inch backset and the 300 T-strike measuring 2-3/4 by 1-1/8 inches. Latch throw is 1/2 inch, the faceplate is 1 by 2-1/4 inches, and all strikes carry a 1-1/4 inch lip-to-center. If your frame is cut for an ANSI A115.1 strike instead, Arrow offers that option at 4-7/8 by 1-1/4 inches. Backsets of 2-3/8, 2-3/4, 3-3/4 and 5 inches are available across the series.
4) I need a Grade 1 knob lock instead of the Arrow MK04 for a high traffic opening. What are my options?
The Arrow MK04 is Grade 2. If the spec calls for Grade 1 in a knob, the Schlage D10S passage latch is a Grade 1 heavy duty cylindrical non-keyed knob lock with an Orbit knob, and the Falcon X101 is a Grade 1 heavy duty cylindrical passage knobset with an interchangeable core that fits 1-3/8 inch to 2-1/4 inch doors. Note that both are passage function, so neither locks - they latch only, where the MK04 locks the outside knob by push button.
5) Does any alternative to the Arrow MK04 cover doors thicker than 1-3/4 inch?
The Arrow MK04 fits 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch doors. For a thicker leaf, the Corbin Russwin CK4310 Grade 1 passage/closet cylindrical lock with Global knob covers 1-3/8 inch to 2 inch, and the Falcon X101 Grade 1 passage knobset covers 1-3/8 inch to 2-1/4 inch. Both are passage function rather than the MK04 push button privacy function, so confirm the opening does not need to lock before substituting.
6) What is the closest Grade 2 equivalent to the Arrow MK04 patio knob lock from another manufacturer?
The Arrow MK04 is a Grade 2 cylindrical knob lock with a patio/privacy function, non-keyed, with a push button in the inside knob that locks the outside knob. 8) Do I have to specify handing when I order an Arrow MK04?
No. The MK04 is reversible, so one lock covers left and right hand openings and you don't need to hand it on the order.
9) Will the Arrow MK04 rose cover the wear ring from the old knob lock I'm replacing?
The rose is 2-9/16 inches in diameter on all three knob designs (BD ball, DD Darrin, TA Tudor), so measure the existing rose footprint before you commit. Anything larger than 2-9/16 will leave a visible ring on the door face.

No cylinder, no keys. The MK04 is the non-keyed patio function, so there is nothing to key, masterkey or specify a keyway for. If you need the door to key into a system, you want a keyed MK Series function instead, which takes the Arrow A keyway or competitive keyways such as Schlage C.
12) What are the alternatives to the Arrow MK04 if I need a privacy knob for a bath or bedroom instead?
For a straight privacy function in a Grade 2 commercial knob, the Dexter C2000 Series privacy ball knob fits the same 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inch door range. 14) The door does not need to lock at all - what should I order instead of the Arrow MK04?
The Arrow MK04 has a patio/privacy function with a push button in the inside knob, so it is meant for a room you want to secure from inside. 15) Is a dummy knob a substitute for the Arrow MK04?
No. The Arrow MK04 has a live cylindrical chassis with a dead locking latch bolt operated by the knob from either side, plus a push button lock in the inside knob. A dummy trim such as the Schlage A170 Grade 2 single dummy or the BEST 6K Series single dummy has no latch and no locking mechanism at all - it is a fixed pull for an inactive leaf. They are not interchangeable with the MK04 on a door that actually latches.
