ARROW RX Series Cylindrical Locksets

The RX Series has been enhanced to offer removable throughbolts and a wide variety of designs, finishes and functions. The RX Series cylindrical locksets are an economical value for a variety of application. Perfect for multi-family housing markets, as well as light commercial applications.

 

Standard features 

  • Construction: Cold rolled steel with zinc dichromate finish for corrosion resistance. Requires standard 2-1/8" (53.97mm) bore through door.
  • Door thickness: Fits 1-3/8" (34.93mm) to 1-3/4" (44.45mm) doors standard.
  • Backset: 2-3/8" (60.31mm) or 2-3/4" (69.85mm). 
  • Latch: Brass 1/2" (12.7mm) throw, UL Listed, guarded latchbolt on all locking functions.
  • Latch Front: 1" x 2-1/4" (25.40mm x 57.15mm) for 2-3/8" backset (60.32.mm) or 1-1/8" x 2-1/4" for 2-3/4" (69.85mm) backset.
  • Exposed Trim: RL Levers are pressure cast zinc measuring 4-3/4" (120.65mm) in length. RL Roses are wrought brass 3-3/8" (85.73mm) diameter. Total projection from face of door is 2-1/2" (63.5mm).

Arrow RLX01-SR-26D – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Arrow RLX01-SR passage lever fit a 1-3/8 inch door, or is it only for 1-3/4?
Both. The RX Series cylindrical lockset fits doors from 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch as standard, with no extra kit needed. It needs a standard 2-1/8 inch cross bore through the door face, so it drops into a typical 161 prep.
2) Does the Arrow RLX01 passage lockset need to be handed when I order?
No handing to specify. The RLX01 is non-handed, so one part number covers left and right hand openings. For a property manager buying a carton for a building, that means no sorting on site.
3) What does passage function mean on the Arrow RLX01 - does it lock at all?
It does not lock, and there is no cylinder or keyway in it. The latchbolt retracts from the lever on either side at all times, which is the ANSI F75 passage function. Use it on corridor, hall and closet doors where you only want a latched door. If the room needs to be secured from the inside, you want a privacy or an entry function instead.
4) Which latch and strike ship with the Arrow RLX01 passage lever?
Standard is an R73 springlatch with a 2-3/4 inch backset and an R62 ASA strike measuring 4-7/8 x 1-1/4 inches, with a 1-1/8 x 2-1/4 inch latch faceplate. Throw is 1/2 inch. The RX Series is also built for a 2-3/8 inch backset, which takes a 1 x 2-1/4 inch front. Wood and machine screws are included.
5) My frames are prepped for a 2-3/4 inch T strike, not an ASA strike. Can I still use the Arrow RX Series lever?
Yes. Besides the 4-7/8 inch ANSI strike, the RX Series is offered with a 2-3/4 inch T strike and a 2-1/4 inch full lip strike, so you can match an existing frame prep rather than re-cutting it. The 1/2 inch latch throw is the same across them.
6) I need a passage lever for a labeled fire door - is the Arrow RLX01 the right one?
No fire rating is carried on the RX Series passage lockset, so do not spec it for a labeled opening. Among passage levers we stock, the Falcon K101 Grade 1 and the Corbin Russwin CL3110 are both listed as fire rated; the CL3110 is also vandal resistant and fits 1-3/4 to 2 inch doors.
7) Will the Arrow RLX01-SR work on a 2 inch thick door, and what fits if it will not?
No. The Arrow RLX01-SR is built for 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch doors. For thicker leaves, the Hager 2510 Grade 2 passage lever covers 1-3/8 inch to 2 inch, the Dexter C1000 asylum function covers 1-3/8 inch to 2 inch, the Falcon K101 Grade 1 passage covers 1-3/8 inch to 2-1/4 inch, and the Corbin Russwin CL3110 Grade 1 passage covers 1-3/4 inch to 2 inch.
8) Is a dummy lever a substitute for the Arrow RLX01-SR passage lockset?
No. The Arrow RLX01-SR has a working latchbolt operated by the lever from either side, so it actually latches the door. A dummy trim is fixed and has no latch - it is surface mounted pull trim only. If you need dummy trim for an inactive leaf instead, options include the BEST 7KC single dummy trim in Grade 2, the BEST 9K 1DT single dummy trim in Grade 1 heavy duty, the Accentra 455LN Augusta Grade 1 single dummy, and the Callan Bentley Grade 2 dummy lever.
9) What is a direct Grade 2 passage lever equivalent to the Arrow RLX01-SR?
The Arrow RLX01-SR is a Grade 2 cylindrical passage leverset with latchbolt operated by lever either side.
