Bobrick 268 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How is the Bobrick B-268 corner bin attached, and does it sit on the floor?
It is a surface-mounted unit, fastened to the two corner walls rather than resting free on the floor. That keeps the floor clear underneath for mopping and stops the bin being dragged around or tipped, which is why it gets specified in high-traffic public restrooms.
2) Does the Bobrick B-268 come with a liner, or do I have to buy bags separately?
A removable reusable vinyl liner is furnished with the unit, and there are five hooks welded inside the body to hang it from. So you are not buying disposable can liners on a subscription for this one, though plenty of facilities still drop a poly bag inside the vinyl liner for wet waste.
3) What capacity is the Bobrick B-268 corner waste bin, and is that enough for a busy public restroom?
Capacity is 13.4 gallons (50.7 liters), or 1.8 cubic feet. For a two or three fixture restroom in an office or school that is typically a once-a-day liner change; for a high-volume venue restroom with heavy paper towel use you will want a larger floor receptacle or a second unit rather than stretching this one.
4) What material and gauge is the Bobrick B-268, and will it hold up in a high-abuse public washroom?
Body is type 304 stainless steel, 22 gauge (0.8 mm), with all-welded construction and a satin finish. Type 304 resists the humidity and cleaning chemicals in a washroom, the welded seams mean there are no fasteners to work loose or collect grime, and satin hides scuffs and fingerprints far better than a mirror finish.
5) Is the Bobrick B-268 open on top or does it have a lid?
Open top. There is no swinging cover or push flap, so users drop waste straight in and housekeeping can see fill level at a glance. If your facility requires a covered receptacle for odor or infection-control reasons, this is not the model for that requirement.
6) Will the Bobrick B-268 match the other stainless washroom accessories already in my building?
It is satin-finish stainless steel, which is the standard finish across Bobrick's stainless washroom line, so it reads the same as satin stainless paper towel dispensers, grab bars and soap dispensers already on the wall. Satin is the only finish offered on the B-268.
