CV-603 Series is an app-based wireless Bluetooth® managed access control system designed to provide maximum flexibility in small door and gate applications and comes ready to support each system user with the card security FOB, or smartphone credential they want. 1) Does the Camden CV-603 Bluetooth access control panel need a PC or software to program?
No PC, no server, no software license to install. The CV-603 controller is set up entirely from a smartphone over Bluetooth using Camden's configuration app, which runs on Apple and Android. System setup, adding and removing users, downloadable audit trail and data backup all happen in the app, and there are 5 configurable operator security levels so a property manager can give a site contact limited rights without handing over full administration.
2) How many doors and how many users will the Camden CV-603 handle?
Two doors from one controller, with 2,000 users. It takes 2 reader inputs plus a door position switch and REX input per opening, and gives you 2 Form C relay outputs for the locks. If you have more than two openings you need additional controllers, not an expansion board.
3) Can I use my existing HID prox or MIFARE readers with the CV-603 controller?
Yes, if they output Wiegand. The CV-603 accepts Wiegand 26, 30, 34 and 37 bit, so readers using HID Prox, HID iClass, MIFARE and DESFire encryption can be wired straight to it. It handles both low frequency and clone resistant high frequency credentials. What it will not take is a reader that only speaks OSDP or a proprietary serial protocol.
4) Will the CV-603 work with fail-safe maglocks as well as fail-secure electric strikes?
Both. The two outputs are Form C (changeover) relays, so you can wire either a fail-safe device like a magnetic lock or a fail-secure electric strike off the same board. Relay contacts are rated 1A at 12V AC/DC, so anything drawing more than that needs to be switched through a separate relay or power supply output rather than directly off the controller.
5) Is the Camden CV-603 suitable for a parking gate or vehicle entrance?
That is one of the applications it is built around. The controller has a built-in 433 MHz receiver for CX-TXM-2 two button wireless key fobs, with encrypted rolling code and AES128 protected transmission, so drivers can operate the gate without lowering a window. 6) Can tenants use their phones as credentials on the CV-603, or do I have to issue cards?

Each relay can be set as timed from 1 to 180 seconds, momentary, or bi-stable latch.
