1) What voltage does the Camden SureWave CM-332 touchless switch run on, and can it share power with my mag lock supply?
The CM-332 is line powered and accepts 12VAC/DC, 24VDC or 24VAC, drawing 40 mA. That range covers the typical 12V or 24V access control supply already feeding a mag lock or strike, so it can be picked up off the same regulated supply as long as you have 40 mA of headroom.
2) Will the CM-332 relay contacts switch my electric strike directly, or do I need a separate power controller?
Contacts are rated 3 Amps at 30 V. That handles most 12V or 24V strikes and small loads switched directly, but anything drawing more than 3 amps, or any line-voltage load, has to go through a relay or power controller. Check the inrush of your strike, not just its holding current.
3) Why does the CM-332 have two relays instead of one?
Two relays let one switch do two jobs from a single wave: fire the door operator and release the lock at the same time, or drop a mag lock on one relay while triggering an alarm shunt or an intercom on the other. Both are multi-function and each can be set for event or toggle operation.
4) Can this Camden switch be set up as a wave-to-lock button for a restroom or exam room rather than a door opener?
That is what the /43 faceplate is made for. It carries a hand icon with 'Wave to Lock' text, and the relays run in toggle mode so one wave locks and the next wave unlocks, with the status held between waves. Event mode is the alternative if you want a timed momentary release for an operator instead.
5) Does the CM-332 have inputs for a request-to-exit device and a door contact?
Both. REX and DPS inputs are built in, so a crash bar REX or motion sensor can trigger the same relay logic, and the door position switch lets the unit know whether the door is closed before it relocks. That is the wiring that makes an unattended wave-to-lock room behave correctly.
6) Can I use this Camden touchless switch on a mag lock that has to release on power failure?
