The KitLock KL1000 Classic is a compact digital lock which is easy to fit and will perform up to 15,000 openings on just two AAA batteries. When fitted with the KitLock Slam Latch, there is no need to turn the lock handles to secure the locker/cabinet, simply 'push shut' to lock the door.

1) What is the difference between the KL1000 SlamKit and a standard KL1000 locker lock?
The SlamKit pairs the KitLock KL1000 Classic digital lock with the KitLock Slam Latch in one box. With the standard lock and a cam or deadbolt, the user has to turn the knob to relock. With the Slam Latch fitted, the door just gets pushed shut to lock, which is what gym and day-use locker banks usually want. If your lockers already have a working latch and you only need the keypad, the plain KL1000 Classic is the lock to buy instead.
2) Can the KL1000 SlamKit be used for both assigned lockers and day-use lockers?
Yes, it runs in both Private and Public modes. Private suits a locker assigned to one person who keeps the same 4 digit user code; Public suits shared or day-use lockers where a user sets a code on closing and it clears on opening. Code levels go Master (8 digit), Sub-Master (8 digit), Technician (6 digit) and standard user (4 digit), so a facilities team keeps override access without handing out the master.
3) What happens to a Codelocks KL1000 locker lock if the batteries die with the door shut?
There is a battery override: a 9 volt PP3 battery held against the external contacts powers the keypad long enough to enter a code and open the door. Before that point, a red LED flashes on opening to warn of low battery, and the non-volatile memory keeps all codes even with the batteries out. Normal life is up to 15,000 openings on two AAA cells.
4) Do I need to buy anything else to install the KL1000 SlamKit?
