1) Does the BLB-10 come with a cover, or do I order that separately?
It ships with one die cast aluminum cover, catalog number CV-7. No gasket is included with it. If the location needs sealing, order the gasket separately: GKN-7 in neoprene or GKV-7 composition.
2) Is the Arlington 935NM AnyBODY conduit body a substitute for the Thomas & Betts BLB-10?
No. The BLB-10 is a die cast aluminum Type LB conduit body in 4 inch trade size with a 366 cubic inch wiring chamber, used with EMT conduit. The Arlington 935NM is an LB-style non-metallic conduit body in 2 inch threadless configuration, so it is both a smaller trade size and a different material. If the raceway on the drawing is 4 inch EMT and the run is metallic, the 935NM will not land on it.
3) How much clearance do I need to mount a 4 inch LB conduit body like the BLB-10?
Plan the opening around the published dimensions: 15, 16-5/16, 5-1/2, 5-9/16, 13-1/2 and 6-15/16 inches across the A through F reference points. It is a large body, so confirm you have the back-to-wall depth and vertical run before cutting in. At 8.9 lbs each, it also needs a solid strap or support rather than hanging on the conduit alone.
4) Is the BLB-10 conduit body metal or plastic, and is it UL listed?
Die cast aluminum body and cover, UL listed, and RoHS compliant. The cover screws are retained stainless steel, so they stay with the cover when you open it up and resist corrosion on exterior work.
5) Which LB body do I choose if the spec calls for a metallic body with a gasketed cover?
Choose the Thomas & Betts BLB-10. It is die cast aluminum and ships with a die cast aluminum cover, with the CV-7 cover and GKV-7 composition or GKN-7 neoprene gaskets as its matched parts, plus retained stainless steel cover screws. The Arlington 935NM is a non-metallic LB-style body, which is a different material class for that spec line.
6) How is the BLB-10 sold, individually or by the box?
Sold each, one per outer package. Order the quantity of bodies you need; covers come with them, gaskets do not.
