1) Does the Thomas & Betts BLRL-1 conduit body come with a cover and gasket, or do I order those separately?
The BLRL-1 body is ordered on its own. Covers and gaskets are separate line items: CV-1 die cast cover or SCV-1 stamped aluminum cover, with either a GKV-1 composition gasket or a GKN-1 neoprene gasket. Pick one cover and one gasket per body, and use neoprene where the chamber sees moisture or washdown.
2) Is the BLRL-1 aluminum or steel, and can I use it outdoors near masonry?
Die cast aluminum. That makes it a reasonable choice in damp outdoor locations where steel would rust, but keep it off fresh concrete and wet masonry, since aluminum corrodes against those. It's also RoHS compliant if your spec calls for that.
3) Can I buy a single BLRL-1 or is there an order minimum?
Priced each, but it moves in multiples of 10. Inner pack is 10 and the outer carton holds 50, so a service truck restock lands naturally at 10, 20 or 50.
4) Do I lose the cover screws every time I open a BLRL-1 to pull wire?
No. The cover screws are retained stainless steel, so they stay captive in the cover when you back them out, which matters on a ladder or overhead. The throats are also smooth, so conductors feed through without snagging the insulation.
5) How much does a box of 100 BLRL-1 conduit bodies weigh for a freight estimate?
