1) What size duct does the Delta Breez GBR80HLED bath fan need?
The GBR80HLED connects to 4 inch duct. If you're replacing an older fan on 3 inch flex, you'll need to transition up to 4 inch to get the rated flow out of it. The housing itself is 8-1/4 x 8 x 5-3/4 inches, so it needs a joist bay that will take that body between framing.
2) Can a Delta Breez GBR80HLED fan/light be installed over a tub or shower?
Yes, the GBR80HLED is UL and cUL listed for use in a tub or shower enclosure, but only when it is wired to a GFCI-protected branch circuit. It is also UL and cUL listed for ceiling mount installation. Wall mounting is not part of that listing.
3) What size bathroom will an 80 CFM Delta Breez GBR80HLED cover?
80 CFM is rated for spaces up to 80 square feet. That covers a typical full bath or a large master. For a bathroom bigger than that, or one with the toilet in a separate compartment, you want more airflow or a second fan rather than stretching this one.
4) How does the humidity sensor on the Delta Breez GBR80HLED work, and can I turn it down?
The sensor set-point is user adjustable. Above the set-point the fan ramps to full 80 CFM; below it, the fan runs continuously at a preset lower level, either 0 or 50 CFM depending on how you configure it. That 50 CFM continuous mode is what makes it usable as a whole-bath continuous ventilation source rather than an on-demand fan.
5) Does the Delta Breez GBR80HLED come with a dimmer switch?
No. The 13-watt dimmable LED is built into the fan and included, but the dimmer switch is not. You supply that separately. Plan the wiring for it at rough-in, because the light is dimmable only if there's a compatible dimmer on the circuit.
6) Is the GBR80HLED bath fan light bright enough to be the only light in the bathroom?
The LED puts out 850 lumens at 3000K with a 90 CRI. In a small bath that is enough for general lighting; in a larger room treat it as ambient light and add vanity fixtures.
