Dormakaba 74035 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Dorma 74035 spindle work with my Dorma door closer?
The 74035 spindle is made for Dorma BTS Series closers. BTS is Dorma's floor closer line, so the spindle is the part that carries the door through the closer body up to the door bottom. If your closer is a surface mounted overhead unit rather than a BTS floor closer, this spindle is not the part for it.
2) Is the Dorma 74035 a complete floor closer or just a replacement part?
It is a replacement part only, the spindle for a BTS Series closer. You are buying the spindle to service a closer that is already in the floor, not a new closer body, cement case, or cover plate. If the existing BTS body still holds fluid and controls the door, swapping the spindle is a service job on the unit you have.
3) Is the Dorma 74035 BTS spindle rated for commercial door traffic?
Commercial. The 74035 is a commercial grade component for BTS Series floor closers, which is the application these closers are built for: entrance doors and glass front openings in stores, offices, and institutional buildings rather than residential interior doors.
