The E-Plex 5000 Series rim exit device trim is built to work with most leading brands of rim exit devices, but the exit device itself and the mounting hardware are not included. 2) Can I key the E-Plex exit trim override into my existing Best or Corbin Russwin core system?
Yes, the key override is a choose-at-order item and covers both interchangeable core families. Option B takes SFIC cores, Best and equivalents, in 6 or 7-pin length. Option C takes LFIC Corbin Russwin, 6 or 7-pin. Option M takes LFIC Medeco/ASSA/Yale/Abloy in 5 or 6-pin. Cores are not included on any of those three, so pull them from your own stock. If you are not on a core system, XK ships a Kaba cylinder in the Kaba 90 keyway and XS ships a Kaba cylinder in the Schlage C keyway, both included.
3) Do I have to run wire through the door for the E-Plex exit trim?
No wiring, inside the door or to it. The E-Plex uses Dormakaba's LectroBolt to carry the signal across, which removes the door cord and the risk of pinched wire. Installation is a four-bolt job on either a wood or a metal door.
