The E-Plex 5700 Series electronic pushbutton lock supports thousands of users and audit events. It supports three methods of authentication - PIN only, prox card credentials only, or both PIN + prox card. Compatible with a host of Keyscan, Farpointe and HID 125kHz standard frequency credentials and is an ideal retrofit for various Adams Rite mortise locking devices. E-Plex 5700 can function in standalone offline or wireless modes and can be trusted in many access control applications.

1) Will the E-Plex 5770 access controller work on a door that already has an exit device on it?
Yes, the E-Plex 5700 family includes a rim exit device configuration, and it works with most leading brands of exit devices. The exit device itself and the mounting hardware are not included, so you order those separately. Hub rotation on the exit trim model is up to 60 degrees, and it needs a minimum 5 inch stile, so it will not go on a narrow stile aluminum door. Backset on the exit trim version varies with whichever exit device you mount it to.
2) Is the E-Plex 5700 electronic lock fire rated?
The cylindrical latch version carries a 3-hour UL/ULC fire rating. That rating is stated for the cylindrical latch specifically, so if you are specifying for a rated opening, that is the locking device to put on the order.
3) Do I have to specify handing when I order an E-Plex 5700 lock?
No. The lock is non-handed. It arrives pre-assembled for a left-hand door and you change it in the field for a right-hand opening, so you can stock one part number and cover every door in the building.
4) What prox cards work with the E-Plex 5770 prox controller?
It reads 125 kHz standard frequency credentials from Keyscan, Farpointe and HID. Three ways to authenticate: PIN only, prox card only, or PIN plus card together for a higher security opening. If your site is already on 13.56 MHz smart credentials, this is the wrong reader.
5) Do I need software and wiring to run E-Plex 5700 locks, or can they run on their own?
They run either way. Standalone offline, you program directly at the keypad with the LearnLok feature, which supports 300 users.
