Mustee 3442BT – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size shower base is the Mustee 3442BT Durabase?
The Mustee 3442BT Durabase shower floor is a 34 x 42 inch base in biscuit. Those are the outside footprint numbers, so lay them against your framed alcove opening before you order: a 34 x 42 opening framed to the base is what it drops into. It ships as a single model, 3442BT, with no size or color options to choose.
2) Is the Mustee 3442BT a shower pan you tile over, or a finished floor?
It's a finished shower floor. The Durabase 3442BT is a molded shower base that goes in as the finished surface with a drain connection, not a mud pan or a tileable substrate. If your plan calls for a tiled shower floor with a hot-mopped or membrane pan, this is the wrong part for it.
3) Does the 34x42 biscuit Durabase come in white too, or is biscuit the only color?
Biscuit is what the 3442BT is. Mustee uses a separate model number per color in the Durabase line, so if you need white at 34 x 42 you're ordering a different model, not a color option on this one. Ordering by the 3442BT number gets you biscuit every time, which is what you want when you're matching a fleet of units already fitted out in that color.
4) Where do I find the rough-in and drain location for the Mustee 3442BT?
Mustee publishes a spec sheet for the 3442BT that carries the rough-in drawing, and it's linked directly from the product information. That sheet is what your plumber wants for drain centerline and threshold detail before the slab or subfloor gets cut. The base itself is the 34 x 42 biscuit Durabase.
